Scouting at the Troop level is led by Scouts and centered on empowering them to their scouting journey. This journey, typically called the "Trail to Eagle" is unique to each Scout as they begin by working on their Scout Rank. Since scouting at this level is youth-led, the time each Scout takes for each rank is dependent on the Scout. Weekly meetings on Monday nights serve as the planning anchor for our Troop, and the outings and activities they engage in reinforce the Scout Oath and Scout Law
Adults serve as mentors, counselors, coaches, and encouragers to scouts as they meet in Patrols to accomplish their goals and work on the details for their scouting adventure.
There are seven BSA Scout ranks: Scout, Tenderfoot, Second Class, First Class, Star, Life, and Eagle. In the BSA handbook, there are requirements that, when fulfilled, help you advance to the next rank.
It is MOST IMPORTANT that Scouts keep (i.e. don't lose) their BSA Handbook and Merit Badge blue cards. This is their record of accomplishment which is crucial for the Eagle Trail.
